May’s Theme: Tulip Foil Relief
Learn more about the inaugural Albany Tulip Festival in 1949 and craft your own art project inspired by the first Tulip Queen Crown! Be sure to view the original Tulip Queen Crown on display in the Albany Institute atrium to compare your design. Participants may pick up a to-go activity set for this art project at the museum’s front desk or attend an in-person drop-in art-making session on May 7 and May 14.

All ages are welcome to participate
Enjoy your visit to the museum and create an art activity inspired by the exhibitions and collections. Drop-In Art-Making activities are offered on the second Saturday of each month and on special occasions such as Federal holidays.
Our hands-on art programs take place in the museum’s large multipurpose room, which provides ample space to spread out, socially distance, and be creative.
Our current Covid precautions call for participants in in-person programs to wear face coverings (masks).
*In-person programming may be postponed or shifted to virtual programs in the event of changes to local COVID-19 community levels or in response to New York State or government guidelines and recommendations relating to COVID-19 safety and social distancing protocols.
Art for All: Art to Go!

Enjoy your visit to the museum and bring home an art activity inspired by the exhibitions and collections. Art for All: Art to Go! activities can be picked up at the front desk, and both children and adults are invited to participate. Instructions are included with the materials. Projects change monthly.
