As it gets cooler outside, join us at the Albany Institute for a cozy afternoon of low-stakes art making and tasty warm beverages. We will provide the art making supplies, light snacks, and a selection of tea and cocoa packets to choose from. You bring your favorite mug, creativity, and a friend!
This month will feature an art project inspired by Paul Scott: New American Scenery as we transfer and reinterpret one of our favorite fall scenes from AIHA’s permanent collection, Farm Scene by Rudy Helmo. For this project, prepare to be guided through an oil pastel transfer and resist with watercolors, recreating the scene. All art-making materials will be supplied, however, feel free to bring your favorite watercolor supplies or canvas if you so choose.
Advance registration is required and capacity is limited. For questions, please contact Mallory Schultz, Education Coordinator, at schultzm@albanyinstitute.org.
Looking to add a new mug to your personal collection? Each month will feature select mugs on sale made by local artisans. Check back to see which ceramist will be featured this month!
