A native of Kansas, Kenneth Green trained as a teacher before completing his Master’s in Fine Art from the State University of Iowa in 1957 where he majored in ceramics. After graduating he accepted the position of professor of ceramics at SUNY New Paltz and remained there until his retirement in 1990.
Moon, Wind, and Sun displays Green’s desire to capture the “preciousness of nature and media.” The beautifully glazed stoneware disk evokes the forces of nature through solids and voids, circles and arcs. It is both serene and powerful at the same moment.
