A campaign button used in Carl Touhey's 1973 campaign for election as mayor of Albany.  In 1973, Carl E. Touhey, a well educated, successful businessman, ran as the Republican Party candidate in an attempt to unseat eight-term Mayor Erastus Corning 2nd.  Touhey was defeated by 3,552 votes, the smallest margin of votes in Corning's electoral life.
